5. Racers must display their numbers on their bikes while racing. If there is a bike swap, the racer’s number must be transferred to the new bike. Your number must be on your bike while you are racing.
6. Drafting is permitted. Drafting can only be done with another racer racing at that time. A teammate may not be used to draft.
7. Racers riding bikes have the right of way over those pushing bikes. If you are pushing a bike, please stay off the ride-able portion of the trail so riders may pass. If you are lapping another racer, call out “passing on your left/right”. It is up to the passing rider to pass safely.
8. Short cutting the course is not allowed. If a racer short cuts the course their entire team will be disqualified!
9. Poor sportsmanship, use of profane or abusive language and other unsportsmanlike behavior towards a racer, volunteer, event staff or spectator will not be tolerated. The team is subject to a warning or immediate disqualification

Also, a fee of $15 cash must accompany each protest. Protests may be given to a race director at any time during the race up to 30 minutes after posting of the final results. 11. If heading out on a lap two hours before sunset you must have a primary light source (10 watts at a minimum) in addition to a back up light source (flashlight or another lighting system), in addition each racer must have a rear red light source if riding after , either blinking or solid. Racers entering the course two hours before sunset on Saturday. Specific times will announced at the racer meeting.
12. Team captains must pick up their team’s baton from timing tent at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the race. All teams and Solos must be logged in before the 8:00 am start. The racer finishing their lap will hand the baton to the registrar who will log in their time then will log out the next racer time and hand the baton to the next racer. The racer on deck should tell the registrar their name to make the process quicker. If a racer logs out (completes a lap) and their teammate is not there to race, the clock keeps running! Racers logging out should check the time written down to make sure it is written correctly. The registrars do not have updated results. Updated results will be posted continually throughout the race at a designated location.
13. If you loose a baton it is a 5 minute penalty added on to your total time for each incident. Please get another baton from the timing tent if you do lose a baton.
14. A racer may race consecutive laps. The racer must log in by handing the baton to registrar the registrar then writes down the time then hands the baton back to the racer. The racer then races their next lap.
15. Once on a course, a racer must complete his or her lap. However, the team has the option of canceling a racer’s lap and restarting the lap from the log in tent with a substitute. A canceled lap does not count as a completed lap. A team member can cancel a racer’s lap by notifying the team’s registrar at the log tent and initializing the log sheet next to the canceled lap. The new racers time will start when the canceled racer’s time started. Once a cancellation is made, it can not be rescinded.
16. The 12 hour race starts at 8:00 am and ends at 8:00 pm. The 6 hour race starts at 8:00 am and ends at 2:00 pm. The awards for the 6 hour race will be held at 4:00 pm. Each team’s final placing will be determined by the number of laps the team or solo has completed and the sequential order of finish within the team’s or solos last lap. Teams and solo racers may finish before noon without being disqualified. For example, a team or solo racer that has completed 6 laps with a finish time of 11:29 p.m. would beat a team or solo racer that completed 6 laps with a finish time of 11:37.
For both races the last lap must be started before 2:00 PM (6 hour race) or 8:00 pm (12 hour race), however, you must be in by 3:00 pm (6 hour race) or 9:00 pm (12 hour race) for the last lap to count. This is the only way we can keep the awards from happening before midnight!
No racers may head out on course after 2:00 (6 hour race) or 8:00 (12 our race). Please let us know if your team stops before the end of the race.
17. In case of a disastrous situation due to weather or any other extenuating circumstance preventing continuation or scoring of the event or creates a racing environment that is deemed too dangerous for the participants, the race directors may postpone or cancel the race as of a certain time. The race may be restarted if the weather or circumstances allow. A restart procedure will be put into place at direction of the race director. If the race is cancelled final results will be calculated based on each team’s or solos last completed lap. This is a last resort option.
18. If a racer stops to assist another injured racer, emergency personnel will notify the timing tent with the name and number of the assisting racer. Race staff will then inform the team of the assisting racer to prepare the next rider on their team. That rider will be allowed to start his lap based on the assisting racer’s interpreted lap time which will be based on the assisting riders average lap time (2 or more laps) or the teams average lap time.
Have fun and please ask if you have any questions!
